Scott A. Larsen, C.P.A.

Mr. Larsen’s professional popularity is the result of his extensive training in the area of Federal, State and Local taxes. His clients appreciate his ability to communicate highly technical tax law including the pros and cons of tax saving strategies. He also enjoys tremendous success in those few cases where his clients are audited by the IRS – even when documentation is lacking.

Mr. Larsen is a 1971 graduate of St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower and a 2008 recipient of their New Legends award for his professional accomplishments and community involvement.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration – Accounting in 1977 from California State University, Fullerton.

He was licensed to practice through the California State Board of Accountancy in 1981.

He serves on the board of directors for several local organizations and is politically active in the area.

Jerry W. Larsen, C.P.A. (Retired)

Mr. Larsen was licensed to practice through the California State Board of Accountancy in 1961 and retired in 2014.

While he no longer practices as a C.P.A., Mr. Larsen makes himself available to our staff members to answer questions that need to draw upon his 58 years of experience.

 

Jeffrey R. Pachuilo, E.A.

Mr. Pachuilo has an extensive back ground in tax preparation including duties in the United States Army where, as a Captain, he assisted military personnel in the preparation of their tax returns every year. After completing Command and General Staff School he was promoted to the rank of Major where he then served in the Army Reserve and continued to provide tax assistance.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 1979 from University of Arizona. And in 1981 Western Kentucky University conferred a Master’s Degree in Public Service.

In 2006, after passing a lengthy exam administered by the Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Pachuilo earned the credential of Enrolled Agent.

Jeff has been employed with Larsen, Gangloff and Larsen since 2002. His responsibilities include bookkeeping, internal accounts payable, Estate Tax Returns and preparing over 250 individual and business tax returns.

His computer skills include most business software including Word©, Excel©, and LaCerte© Tax.

And for those of you so inclined, he is fluent in French.

 

Our Support Staff

Of course any successful firm requires an experienced support dedicated to the same quality standards and work ethic of the firm. We here at Larsen, Gangloff and Larsen are blessed to have a terrific assisting staff.

Laura Velazquez – Staff Accountant

Mrs. Velazquez has an Associates of Arts Degree in Accounting from Axia College in Phoenix, AZ. Her career has concentrated in the accounting field since 1993 and includes holding the position of Administrative Director for the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Bay. She is a Quick Books© expert and payroll specialist. In addition, she is a Registered Tax Preparer with the California Tax Education Council (CTEC). Her career with Larsen, Gangloff and Larsen began in 2008. She is also fluent in Spanish.

Monica K. Larsen – Administrative Support Staff

Mrs. Larsen has an AA Degree from Cerritos College. She re-entered the work force after raising 3 children. She has worked for Larsen, Gangloff and Larsen since 1997.

Cynthia Smith – Administrative Support Staff

Mrs. Cynthia (Cindy) Smith joined the firm in August 2013 making her the newest member of our team. Her background is in administration and management where she has assisted using her skills in organization, client relations and file management.
