About Us

Family owned since 1941, the name Larsen has been synonymous with accounting in the Long Beach area. Three generations have been consulted on all topics of accounting, bookkeeping and tax. The Larsen family started in the bookkeeping and tax preparation business in 1941 when Charles Larsen, P.A. opened his practice in Long Beach providing service to local businesses and employees of Douglas Aircraft, the largest employer in that area at that time. In 1943 he moved his business to the fast growing community of Bellflower.

In 1962, Charles’ son, Jerry W. Larsen, who had worked with his father for many years, opened his own practice in Bellflower in the wake of his father’s retirement. Jerry was the consummate source of advice for the many new businesses blossoming in Bellflower.

In 1972, Mr. David L. Gangloff Sr. became associated with the firm and in 1975, Jerry’s son, Scott A. Larsen also joined the team. The partnership of Larsen, Gangloff and Larsen, C.P.A.s was created in December of 1982. Mr. Gangloff retired in 2000.

Currently Scott A. Larsen, along with the assistance of Jerry who is now semi-retired, provides the leadership and expertise to sustain success in these more challenging times. Local involvement in non-profit organizations, politics and community outreach as well as serving on the board of directors for many organizations has enhanced his experience and training that can help your business.

Our Mission is to assist you, your family and your business to be prosperous and in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations. We believe that the best way for our business to be successful is for your business to prosper.

We are a member of the Bellflower Chamber of Commerce.

The Firm prepares over 700 tax returns each year. And if you’re being audited by the IRS or other government agency, Larsen, Gangloff and Larsen has the expertise to navigate the murky waters of such stressful times. Our policy is for us to truly represent you. That means we go on your behalf and have you, the taxpayer, remain doing your job instead of attending audit meetings. Rarely do we ask you to join the audit interviews. In addition, we have had much success with audits where the taxpayer has very little supporting documents. But don’t expect us to lie on your behalf, we operate with utmost integrity.
